Each machine tool station should have a poster board with a detailed oiling chart for the machine and a decimal/millimeter conversion chart among posters. If a machine tool like the lathe or mill is missing necessary posters they should all be available from the [[Signage]] page/category on this wiki for re-printing.

[edit] Reading Material

This is a scan of two chapters from the book Machining Fundamentals on mills. This is a highly illustrated book with lots of different mill configurations and ways of using a mill.

Here are some scans from an older book called the "Metal Working Handbook". I recommend reading the chapter on Measuring Tools at least:

[edit] Videos

We have a set of training videos physically in Bloominglabs for the official machining workshop.

However in the mean-time if you are waiting to take the machining workshop, these MIT training videos are a reasonable introduction to the mill. They are part of a 10 video series on machine tools, these are the lathe videos from this series. They each are about 45 minutes in length.

[edit] Replacement Shop Posters and Oiling Charts

Each machine tool station should have a poster board with a detailed oiling chart for the machine and a decimal/millimeter conversion chart among posters. If a machine tool like the lathe or mill is missing necessary posters they should all be available from the Signage page/category on this wiki for re-printing.
