Looks like the zip file I uploaded got messed up some how. Instead, here's
the actual PPT file of Catarina's slides. Get back to me if you have any

I got a new T-shirt screen printed up at the Bloomington Collective Press
tonight and I'll be bringing that tomorrow so people can print a T-shirt.
Bring a shirt and we'll drop a Bloominglabs logo on it! Also, the BCP is
lending us a T-shirt printing press so we can easily print a bunch of
T-shirts at once. Should be fun!

I've been considering offering an Intro to Programming course at the space.
It would be held one night a week for 2 1/2 hours for 15 weeks. We would
cover what would normally be covered in a Freshman Intro to Programming
course. Would people be interested in this? We could also tailor it so that
the first half covers the basics of programming while the second half
focuses on whatever the attendees would be interested in.

If you would be interested in such a course, would you drop me a note?
There will be a charge for the course for both members and non-members -
like $50 for the entire course. I'd also be interested in people's opinion
on whether or not that is too little or too much.

Becky Wann, who is CC'd on this message, is the realtor that rents out the
strip mall where Bloominglabs is housed. She asked me if I knew of anyone
who would be willing to re-install the sign that is at the west end of the
building leaning up against the wall. She figures it would need post holes
dug and footings poured. She is willing to pay for this.

Please either contact me or Becky if you are interested or if you know of
someone who would be interested in doing this. Thanks in advance. I know
Becky appreciate even your consideration.

I thought I had researched this product pretty carefully, but missed
the news that the manufacturer has been suing 3rd party software
developers who unlock the general utility of being able to cut
arbitrary SVG shapes. Instead Provo Craft is unscrupulously limiting
purchasers to the outdated model where they sell overpriced
proprietary font and image cartridges.

So, I'm returning my unopened Cricut Expression and instead purchasing
a similarly priced Cameo Silhouette. A Google search easily finds a
boycott Provo Craft Facebook page, and if you read the Amazon.com
comments on the reviews, you'll see additional evidence of their
greedy ignorance.

It's official! I'm offering an Intro to Computer Programming course at
Bloominglabs this spring meeting on Thursdays from 6pm until 8:30pm. The
course will mirror IU's calendar starting on January 12th and ending on
April 26th with no meeting on March 15th for spring break. The course will
be taught in C and a syllabus is attached (subject to minor changes). Cost
is a minimum of $50 for the 15 week long course (feel free to pay more if
you want!) and all proceeds will go to Bloominglabs. I also ask that you be
committed to attending every week and there will be assignments to work on
outside of class (but no exams!). Please send an email to
contact at bloominglabs.org if you are interested in attending and spread the
word.
