A percentage of purchases made on Amazon goes to us if you use this link first (it costs you nothing): http://smile.amazon.com/ch/46-1572418 And never fear, if you have multiple charities that you support via the AmazonSmile program, you can manage which purchases go towards which charity from your Amazon settings. I'm thinking once a week for 7 weeks from 6pm to 9:30pm starting the week of January 23rd and going through the week of March 6th. I don't have a particular day of the week in mind (except not Wednesday), so I would pick the date that fits the schedules of the most people. The course fees for nearly 25 hours of class time is $50 for members and $125 for non members. If there is enough interest, I'll write up a syllabus. We would use Linux (of course) and the course will cover things like DNS, DHCP, LDAP, PBS (or SLURM if there is interest), PXE, node discovery, security, and xCAT. I think we could do this hands on by having people use 4 AG150s to set up a management node, a login node, and a compute cluster of two nodes. If we have enough time, we could install MPI, HPL, and benchmark our clusters. If you are interested, please drop me a note. Thanks! We will be helping with two events. The first one is for teenagers and will be on Monday, December 5th from 5pm to 7pm. The second is for all ages and will be Wednesday, December 7th from 5pm to 7pm. We are going to be helping kids program some Neopixel lamps and write Scratch programs interacting with a Makey Makey board. There will be multiple stations, so we will need some volunteers to help people with these activities. I also have yet to finalize the program, and I'm happy for input. If you would like to help out with this event either as a volunteer or to help design the program, please get back to me. At the very least, save the dates. I'll be making another plea for volunteers when we get closer to the event. Thanks in advance! Jenett -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
