RK is running a clearance sale, and one of the items they're clearing out is sheets of clear acrylic "safety glass". They're "single strength", which isn't a term I was familiar with, but it looks like it's a variable thickness pour, which isn't ideal for boxes, but should be fine for art pieces , windows, or any other use that doesn't require close tolerances on thickness. http://www.warpbros.com/detail.asp?section=glazing&cat=flex-o-glaze&product=132 is the stuff they've got. You can get any size, up to 36"x36" for $3, which is incredibly cheap. I already cleared out a fair amount of their stock, but there was still plenty left at the end of the day yesterday. Location: leaning against a shelving unit directly in from the left set of doors. Yellow plastic protective coating (this should probably come off before you cut it--don't know its cut properties yet). I am told it is of unremarkable Chinese manufacture, and needs a replacement power supply (approximately $70.00 on e-bay), but the tube is new and effectively unused. To the old laser hands amongst us, does this seem a desirable proposition? --jpt4 On Aug 14, 2017 8:06 PM, "Daniel Halsey via Bloominglabs-members" < bloominglabs-members at bloominglabs.org> wrote: Hey Bloomakers! I imagine it's a K40, and might do well to have a different motion controller as well, but we can check that out. It?s the thinnest window glass available, next is ?double strength?. Anything thicker than those two would likely be plate glass, 1/4 inch or more. The single strength acrylic is aimed at window glass replacement, especially for DIY. Bloominglabs possesses a vintage Heathkit oscilloscope. I used it at last year's Makevention for my "Arduino Pong" game. I would like to use again it for my new, improved version. Unfortunately, someone has borrowed the oscilloscope, and it is no longer in the space. Could I borrow it back for the weekend? Message-ID: Hey all, I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that Makevention is this Saturday, August 26th, 10am-4pm, at the Convention Center. Makevention is now in its 5th year and this one is sure to be the best yet. Come and see what Makers in the region are working on, get inspired, and connect with people who share your love of making. Mechanical puzzles, robots, games, code cracking, lock-picking, fashion, printing - too much stuff to list really, but you can find out more about this year's exhibitors here: http://makevention.org/?page_id=952 In addition to all of that, Bloominglabs has some very exciting news which we'll be announcing there. So if you're looking for something fun to do Saturday, come on out, and spread the word! Thanks Steve -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
