Both camps focus on VR, but track 1 is more centered on the coding/programming aspects and track 2 is more focused on photogrammetry and capturing and preparing the assets (photos and images to be used in the VR environment). Both tracks will get to experience virtual reality by using our HTC Vive headset and both tracks will culminate on Saturday with a public exhibition of their work and a reception. This means, of course, that friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend Saturday?s pubic demo! Here are the days/times of each track (keep in mind this camp is Tuesday through Saturday): Track 1: Tuesday, June 6th 2-6pm ? MCPL room 1C, Level Up, and Downtown Bloomington (parental release required) Wednesday, June 7th 12-6pm ? MCPL Level Up (lunch will be provided) Thursday, June 8th ? I?m happy to speak with you further! *In order to confirm your registration, I will need some information from you:* Name of participant: Age of participant: *(If the participant is under 18 years old, we will need a parent/guardian release form signed before Tuesday, June 6th.)* Can the participant make it to every session (all days) of the camp? *(I?m sorry, but we cannot accept registration for the camp unless the participant can commit to attending each session.)* What track is the participant signing up for? Message-ID: Hi there, Bloominglabs! This is Sophia, the Learning Sciences grad student who has occasionally stopped by Bloominglabs for help with my cosplays and sewing machines! I've also helped run the Creativity Labs' e-textile table at Makevention every year. We love the maker spirit you've brought to the Bloomington community! :) My colleague Anna (akeune at indiana.edu) is exploring the mathematical and computational potential of what we call "fabric origami:" folding, pleating, tugging, etc. of fabric. This Friday from 1-5pm in Eigenmann Rm 521, she hopes to gather a group of mathematicians and computer scientists to explore this craft with her. You are all invited! Please see the attached flyer and RSVP to Anna (not me, please, as I'll be leaving the country in a few days). Thank you all, and we hope to see some of you there! -Sophia and Anna -- Sophia Bender Graduate Research Assistant Learning Sciences PhD Program Indiana University sobender at indiana.edu -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If you will also send me an email saying that you will be in the parade, I will send you a copy of the parade information so that you can read through it as well. Currently the plan is have a couple people carry the Bloominglabs banner, to haul the trebuchet behind a car, to have neopixels strung along the trebuchet trailer, and to have Makevention cards and Bloominglabs "wooden nickels" to pass out along the way.
